One ibis, every size.

The FMIG logo is a single vector family: a traced ibis and a wordmark that stay separate, so either half can be used on its own. The wordmark stays live, editable <text>, and each file carries the two faces inline as woff2 subsets, so the copy can be edited without the type ever falling back to a substitute.

Lockups

Primary FMIG horizontal lockup
fmig-logo.svgPrimary horizontal lockup. Use this whenever there is room for the full descriptor.
Stacked FMIG lockup
fmig-logo-stacked.svgStacked lockup for square and narrow spaces.
Compact FMIG lockup
fmig-logo-compact.svgCompact lockup: the descriptor sits beside FMIG rather than under it, so the full name still reads at header size. The site header uses this above 1000 px.
Ibis and FMIG only
fmig-logo-mini.svgIbis and FMIG only. The header falls back to this on narrow screens, where the full lockup would not fit.
FMIG wordmark without the ibis
fmig-wordmark.svgType only, for places where the ibis already appears nearby.

One colour

Black FMIG lockup
fmig-logo-mono.svgSolid black, for fax, photocopy, engraving and single-colour print.
White FMIG lockup on navy
fmig-logo-reverse.svgSolid white, for navy, photographic and dark backgrounds.
Black ibis mark
fmig-mark-mono.svgBlack ibis on its own.
White ibis mark on navy
fmig-mark-reverse.svgWhite ibis on its own.

Mark and favicon

FMIG favicon

FMIG is set in EB Garamond, the serif the FAFP site ships, and the descriptor lines are set in Work Sans, the family AAFP uses. Both are OFL licensed and both are embedded in each file as a subset covering basic Latin, so edited text keeps its letters.

How the files are made

The ibis geometry comes from visioncortex VTracer. The raw trace is kept at assets/fmig-ibis-vtracer.svg and scripts/build_logo.py rebuilds every file above from it, so the whole family can be regenerated in one command. To change the wording, edit the <text> in the SVG directly, or change DESCRIPTOR and INSTITUTION in the build script and re-run it.

Do not stretch, recolour, re-space or add effects to the lockup. If a placement needs something the family does not cover, add a variant to the build script rather than editing an SVG by hand.
